Discussion: What are your all-time favorite mysteries and thrillers?

Now that I’ve read all of Louise Penny’s brilliant Gamache series, I’m at a bit of a loss for what to read between long/dense Pulitzer books. Something in the broad realm of mysteries and thrillers really appeals to me. And I’m certainly not alone, given that this category always heavily populates the bestseller lists.

A few of my own favorites over the years:

• Louise Penny’s Inspector Gamache series

• William Kent Krueger’s Cork O’Connor series (but also his standalone novels)

• Tana French (though I’ve only read a couple of her Dublin Murder Squad books)

• Stiegg Larson’s Millenium series (Girl With the Dragon Tattoo)

• All of S. A. Cosby’s books
