I read reviews on The Art Thief a few months ago and immediately added it to my list! Have to move it up my TBR! The audio is narrated by Edoardo Ballerini so I probably will listen to the audiobook. I attempted Madame Bovary twice but abandoned it, convinced to DNF it permanently but it keeps appearing on must-read lists so might be a good motivation to pick back up on learning French 😂
Never read either but the Finkel book sounds intriguing. I am currently reading Cormac McCarthy's Border Trilogy and Pat Conroy's The Great Santini.
Sticking on the French theme, I’m 40 chapters into The Count of Monte Cristo (and it’s glorious).
This is so timely! I want to tackle Madame Bovary this summer. What translation did you read?
The Postcard and All the Light We Cannot See are both beautifully written books which take place in France.
