Love these two recs they both sound amazing! Whilst I’m waiting patiently on ‘All the Sinners Bleed’ to come out in paperback I can read his previous work - have you read ‘Razor Blade Tears’? Toying between that & ‘Blacktop Wasteland’.
Yes, I read Razorblade Tears right after Blacktop. Tears was much more violent and I didn’t like the story quite as well. Just my two cents! I’d start with Blacktop.
Like you Jeremy, I read Cutting For Stone and could not wait for The Covenant Of Water. I was never so immersed in a book. I love the time period, the imagery and the unfolding of this terrible affliction on the generations of this family.
This book had everything- was like a grand buffet. Indias caste system always blows me away.

Ditto! This might be my favorite for 2023.
Incredible book, isn’t it? I’d love to read Verghese’s memoir too.
I can't wait to read The Covenant of Water. Thanks so much for the recommendation.
