Another great selection Jeremy. I will definitely be adding Polio to my list of reads. Think these historical books as view on today are such a good way of making senses and giving wider context to what is going on. Not sure where I saw it but recall that the two of the most important things that have improved the health and saved the most lives in the world are clean running water and vaccines!

Erdich is one of my favorite writers. Just finished her latest, The Mighty Red, which was fabulous. I’m reading the Love Medicine Books in chronological order as they do build upon each other. I’m half way through the series. My first book by her was The Sentence and takes place in Minneapolis during the George Floyd riots. Her writing is truly magical.

I am doing a slow read of all of Louise Erdrich's works, which are a lot! She is such a consistently great writer. I am so glad you enjoyed The Night Watchman and want to read her other works. I really enjoyed The Master Butcher's Singing Club and The Antelope Wife.

We read The Night Watchman and Erdrich’s newest book,The Mighty Red in book club. She is one of my favorite authors. My favorite of hers (so far) is The Last Report on the Miracles at Little No Horse.

Happy birthdays to your family. Impressive month Jeremy, especially with three Pulitzer nonfiction selections (5 overall!), which always take me longer than the novels. An excellent pick on Oshinsky's book, one that I strongly second. I look forward to The Night Watchman, having read The Round House last year, as well as the Samuels / Olorunnipa and Woo books. It's that mix which is one of the reasons that makes this goal so worthwhile.

You should watch videos by the band Ok Go. Parent-screen them first, but I think they will be ok.

I’ve read The Good Earth more times than I can count, starting at about age 15. The universality of human behavior is what I carry with me from this book. I believe it’s the best of all her works.

Happy birthday to you and your daughter. Great link to the social story. I made a point last year of pushing myself to be more out there and it’s definitely paid off.
