Hmmm. A different world to discover one day.

What is your favorite Whitehead book?

They're all good! And so different, really. If I had to pick, though, I'd probably say Underground Railroad.

So far I've only read Zone One and Nickel Boys. Both are great, but Zone One would be my favorite. Full disclosure, I am biased toward the zombie genre.

I know you’re not asking me, but between the two I’ve read (Nickel Boys and The Underground Railroad) I’d say the latter is not to be missed!

Thanks, Jeremy, for this spotlight on two sports books. I do read a sports-topic book from time to time, and am a baseball fan, so I'll keep these in mind. (I've read the late Roger Angell, and Doris Kearns Goodwin's Wait Till Next Year, and Hillenbrand's Seabiscuit (of course!), and The Boys in the Boat.)

I've read those last two and loved them both. I haven't read DKG's yet, but it's high on my list. "The Last Boy" by Jane Leavy, "Friday Night Lights" by Buzz Bissinger, and "Fans" by Larry Olmsted are a few of sporty favorites. :)

Interesting perspective, Jeremy! Both books seem like compelling reads, each offering its own insights into the world of sports.

I also enjoy pairing sports books during different seasons- later this summer I’m looking forward to listening to The Last Folk Hero: Bo Jackson. so I will keep an eye out for the Charlie hustle. Also thanks for the WhiteHead recommendation. That is an author I’ve not listened to.
