What was the best book you read in July?
Plus the Anderberg family's favorites
Hey there, readers!
Once again, it’s time to chat about our favorite reads of the previous month. Here’s what our family most enjoyed in July:
Jeremy: Louise Penny’s A World of Curiosities was a standout title in her Gamache series; Barbara Tuchman’s classic The Guns of August wasn’t always easy, but the writing and storytelling were unforgettable.
Jane: Barbara Kingsolver is making a second straight appearance in our monthly favorites. Demon Copperhead was an easy pick for Jane. Incredible characters, immersive story, memorable characters, and a superb narrator made the perfect road trip audiobook. (It was my also my favorite of the month, but also wanted to give Penny the shout out she always deserves.)
Graham (9 years old): Our oldest is still loving the Spy School series and he’s now making his way through the graphic versions. He’s addicted to Stuart Gibbs.
Willa (6 years old): The middle kiddo was gifted Little House in the Big Woods on our big Midwestern road tip. We started reading it ASAP and she’s been excited to jump back in every night.
Bo (3 years old): The little one has circled back to wanting Moo: Peek-A-Flap every night. Fine by us — it’s quick and easy.
Alright, your turn! What was your favorite July read?
Spook Street by Mick Herron for me hands down. Book 4 in the Slow Horses series and probably my favourite one. Could not put it down.
The Dutch House by Ann Patchett. So good
