Amazing that one kid is reading to another—that’s the best for parents for many reasons.

I am going to be super cliche here but it’s true: the best book I read this year was Ben Lerner’s Transcription.

My favorite book of the year is SPACEMAN OF BOHEMIA by Jaroslav Kalfar. The setup sounds like Project Hail Mary, but this one came out first and takes a very different tone and direction.

So far it’s been my re-reading of Lonesome Dove. It’s a hard book to top

Based off a brief segment of Hugh Hewitt he said every high school student should be required to read winds of war. I took him up on that as I am 66 and thought what the heck. Turned out to be as fascinating, action packed and engrossing as he said. I then read the follow up war and remembrance. 2 of the best books I’ve ever read. Anyone 14 or older should/must read these books!

At 74 years young, I've been a very avid reader since I was in my mother's womb! My eight bookcases are filled, and now my pile of TBR books are growing like stalagmites out of the floor. I quit counting at 2,000 books. I'm currently reading my way through the Gabriel Allon series by Daniel Silva. Allon is an art restorer, but is also an Israeli spy. I've learned more about Middle East history from these books than from any news stories. Book #26 is coming out this July. I'm currently on #24. I'd rather sit and read with a mug of French pressed coffee than almost anything else. Within reason! Reading rules!

My favorites so far have been The Remembered Soldier by Anjet Daanje, London Falling by Patrick Radden Keefe, and No One's Coming by Kevin Hazzard.

I have a hard time picking just one. So…… the Elements by John Boyne, The Calamity Club by KathrynStockett, Good People by ? ( can’t think of the author’s name right now), and The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende.
