Congratulations on 5 years! I'm happy you get to see your work pay off in such a tangible way. Your newsletter has also inspired me to read more and got me thinking about writing.
I already voted in your poll, but I would love to see book lists and whatever essays/What's On My Mind pieces you come up with.
Congrats Jeremy. I love being apart of this journey with you. As for adding more paid subscribers, you'd be amazed at how motivating a tote or a coffee mug or something that showcases a person's bookishness can be.
That's incredible, dude! Can't believe it's already been half a decade. I forward your stuff on to anyone and everyone I know that loves books but I'll keep pushing that hard. Thanks for all your do. You have opened my reading list up immensely and I'm eternally grateful for that!
Congratulations on 5 years! I have only just found your newsletter this year and yours is the one I read every Friday. I have shared it with friends, as well.
Thank you, Jeremy. I’m finding new good reads from your posts.
This month I’m plugging for an author friend who wrote about a young woman, a hemiplegic, having doubts about her upcoming wedding. Jennifer Hallmark’s book, JESSIE’S HOPE, is a Southern Romance set in rural Alabama.
Hi! I'm part of the Big Read and am happy to share what it's like. Right now, we are reading Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. Jeremy provides an overview of the book and author and a reading schedule. Then once a week, he gives a recap of the week's reading. It's fantastic, but not the most valuable part.
When he posts the recap, all the folks participating share their feedback and impressions on the week's reading. And then we start to respond to one another. It's awesome and better than I anticipated.
If you are interested in any upcoming books, I recommend trying it. I'm genuinely enjoying it. Jeremy is a fantastic guide and the other folks involved give great input and make the experience more engaging and enjoyable.
Well done! This newsletter along with The Big Read have been inspiring and encouraging for me in my own reading and writing journey. Excited to see what else you create in the future!
I second this sentiment - emulation is a high form of praise and you inspired me to start my own substack, which I’m now addicted to. It’s fun to build a community and talk about the things we love! Thanks brother! 🍻 to the next 5!
Thank you Jeremy, and congratulations on the milestone!
I’ve told as many people as i know about this blog and will continue to do so (and The Big Read!). There aren’t many things that land in my inbox that I always read, but your newsletter is something I look forward to reading each week. I’ll be subscribing to show my support, and hope others will follow my lead and do so, too!
Looking forward to the next five years! Can’t wait to see where it goes from here!
Hi Marcia! It’s $5/month or $52/year. At this point, there aren’t any extra benefits, it’s just a way of saying thank you. But in the coming months I’m going to add more subscriber benefits like exclusive posts and discussions (possibly over Zoom).
Jeremy! Congrats on five years. What a milestone.
Thank you!!

Keep up the good work, Jeremy. Im interested in your future reading as it’ll give me ideas for my reading plans.
PRO TIP: It's y'all, not ya'll.
