Thank you for putting Jane Eyre on next year’s list! It’s been in my tbr for a long time but I end up reading War and Peace and The Count of Monte Christo instead. 😀
I used to really struggle with long books because I'd get caught up in my yearly reading goal and worry about them slowing me down! A typical side effect of modern life (meeting goals, rushing through things) that I hadn't realised had crept into my love of books. Once I recognised that pattern, I tried instead to start just enjoying the process of a long book and letting go of the 'go go go'. Getting immersed in a doorstopper and spending a considerable amount of time in a literary world is a joy!

I agree with getting an edition you enjoy. Why not! It's the small things in life.
