I just finished reading The Underworld this week! It was an interesting read and I found it left me with similar feelings of appreciation! Love the newsletter!
The 4 Percent Universe by Richard Panek had that eye opening effect on me. While we know more about the heavens than the seas, we basically know diddly squat. In 4 Percent, there is a little bit of math that I had to skip past, but Panek's narrative and insight was easy to follow beyond that.
Your reviews, though, gave me three more titles to add to my TBR.
Except for a very few equations that he throws in, it is very readable as he tries to make sense of dark matter and dark energy - the rest of the 96% of the universe that we don't understand at all, nor can we even really observe.
Would An Immense World be as good on audio?
Yes! That's how I did it. :) Narrated by Ed Yong himself, and he has a great voice.

Thx!
When will I ever have enough time to read all these books 😮💨
Literally never. Godspeed. lol.

Interesting, hadn't heard of The 4 Percent! Thanks, Bob. :)

Thanks for these recommendations! I am looking to read a lot more sciencey books this year, especially chemistry ones
