Up north, just finished Forget the Alamo. As a kid who got fed a giant dose of the Alamo Myth in 4th grade, it was especially eye opening. What's really cool is the history of the myth, which the author's made just as interesting as th battle itself.
Churchill and Orwell by Thomas Ricks is a terrific and short dual bio of the active years for these two unique greats! Look forward to these posts every week!
If you've not read v.2 of Manchester, it's even BETTER. The prologue itself serves as one of the greatest treatments of Churchill I've ever read.
Great to hear!

I’ve heard good things about that one!

Excellent! I have Ricks’ newest book on my shelf, but not that one.
